WHAT A TURNOUT!

Our Family Bowling fundraiser was a great success! We sold every single ticket.  Our penny sale tickets also sold out! In total we raised $1407.25.   This means $2,814.56 in equipment!

It was a great afternoon of family fun. A special thanks you to Gillo's Gas & Lube in Dowling for the penny sale prizes.   Thank you to Bentley's in the Bonaventure Mall, City of Greater Sudbury, Rivet Assurance for also donating prizes for our penny sale.

Another special thank you to Evelyn & Roland Dutrisac who each made a personal donation of $100.00. With our Let Them be Kids Award this is $400 in equipment!   Evelyn & Roland are challenging others to match their donations.   If all the families matched their donations we would reach our goal in no time!

Most of all thanks to all who participated, thanks for your continued support. Without you supporting our events they would not be possible nor would they be so successful.

WE HAVE CHOSEN OUR HERO

The stipulations of our Let Them be Kids award is that we dedicate our project to a hero in our community.

We have chosen Richard Roy as our hero, he represents our everyday heroes, our men of the deep.

"These are the people that build our world and

give us the things we use everyday."

We don't know who said this but let's never forget it.

Our project has received a $10,000 Power Play grant from Hydro One! This grant will help make our dream park a reality. Thank you Hydro One for supporting our efforts and for being a parter in powerful communities.

We will have pizza, cake and lots of fun activities. This is your chance to have your say in the final design.

Poinsettias Fundraiser

Thank you to all who purchased poinsettias. They will be delivered on November 30, 2011.
With this fundraiser we have raised $407.80 this means $815.60 in equipment!

Our Announcement Party

Our announcement party was a great sucess despite the rain. Thank you to all who came to share the wonderful news with us. We had such a great time that we'd like to make this party an annual event. Next year we also want the adults to wear their costumes!

We received $95.00 in Donations at the party - This is $190.00 in equipment! THANK YOU!

We Have Won a National Award!

The Berthiaume Tot Lot Improvement Committee is proud to announce that we have received a National Helping Hands Award from Let Them be Kids!  We were among 30 chosen out of hundreds of applicants.

The outcomes of this project will reach far beyond a new and improved park!  Our goal is to encourage others to take action to create positive changes in our community. Show kids of all ages that they are special and deserving and encourage physical activity by promoting an active lifestyle.

We believe that by giving kids the opportunity to participate in sports they enjoy in a place they have designed and built will lead to a sense of pride, ownership and positive behavior.

The new skatepark will be designed by the children.    More details comming soon!

We Need Your Help!

Please sign up today and be part of this amazing opportunity. Volunteers are needed to build the play structure, help with children activities, food preparation, registration and first aid. This award provides a 50/50 matching grant towards the purchase of equipment as well as support and training to make our dream park a reality.   On  May 12, 2012 our community will come together and build a new skate park as well as enhance our existing park.

Every $1.00 we raise gives us $2.00 in equipment buying power.
